Greg
Wilson
Wildlife
Artist
Greg Wilson was born and raised in the
small mining town of Telluride, Colorado. From a very early age
most of his free time was spent outdoors watching the animals and
then going home in the evening and putting on paper what he had
experienced that day.
Today Greg still
spends most of his time watching, photographing, sketching, and
painting the animals of the mountain west. He travels hundreds of
miles just to get a glance at different animals. Whether it is a
mountain goat in Little Cottonwood Canyon, grizzly bears in Yellowstone,
mountain lions in southern Utah or big horn sheep in Montana, he goes
where the animals can be found carrying his paints and camera.
Over the years he has
gathered an impressive collection of photography which he uses as
reference for his painting. After winning numerous awards for
painting, Greg decided to pursue fine art as a full-time career.
His most recent award is the Patrons Choice Award at the Arts for the
Parks National competition. Today Greg's paintings can be found in
collections across the US and Canada; and his photos can be seen
on the covers of different wildlife publications.
